my background:

I took my first photography class during my last semester in college. I spent 4 hours, every Saturday, learning about photography and while everyone else wanted to run out the door, I just could not get enough. From that point on I knew photography would be an important part of my life.

I finished my BS in Management Information Systems, but continued to take photography classes and finally received a Certificate in Professional Photography from the New York Institute of Photography. My MIS degree has actually helped my photography career because it gave me a solid computer background. I love new software programs and figuring out new ways to enhance my photos. In fact, I went back to school a few years ago to get an Associates Degree in Graphic Design.

my style:

When I’m behind the camera, I love to just observe my subject and wait for the perfect moment to snap the shutter. I focus on emotion and telling a story with my photos. My photo shoots are very laid back, with little posing but lots of direction. I like to get to know my client and capture their personality. I absolutely love natural light so most of my work is done on location although I do have a small studio with window light.

My main goal is to create a photo that truly captures you, your child, the moment. I have a photography and graphic design background so expect something unique.

my life:

I'm originally from Connecticut, lived in North Carolina for 5 years and then moved to Minneapolis in 2014.. My daughter, Jasiña, is a sophomore at NC State and my son, Teddy Jr, is 2 years old. He keeps me moving all day long!

My husband, Teddy, is my best friend and my business partner. While I’m trying to buy every gadget known to man, he keeps me grounded and makes sure I have a plan. We travel as much as we can and I’m always looking forward to our next trip.

I absolutely love food. If there’s anything I’m more passionate about than photography, it may be food. I even photograph meals and post them up on Facebook. My family makes fun of me for planning our Thanksgiving meal in September!
